TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 Guwahati to  Shillong

Guwahati – Shillong (3 Nights) (110 kms 3 hrs approx.)

Arrive at Guwahati airport and proceed to Shillong – the capital of Meghalaya. En route enjoy the view of beautiful Umiam Lake. Overnight in Shillong.

Note: Peak season surcharges will be applicable during festivals, events, Diwali, Christmas and New Year.

Day 2  Shillong-Mawlynnong- Shillong

Today we explore Mawlynnong village which has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’. We visit the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge – Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later proceed to see the crystal clear waters of Dawki river and enjoy boating on the river on own. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. We also visit India - Bangladesh border at Tamabil. In the evening, we have free time for relaxing and exploring the surroundings. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 3 Shillong – Cherrapunjee– Shillong (60 Kms / 2 hrs-One way)

After breakfast, visit Cathedral of Mary, Elephant Falls and Ram Krishna Mission. Later proceed to Cherrapunjee – officially known as Sohra. It is the wettest place on earth. Also visit Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls, and Nohkalikai fall – the tallest plunge waterfall in India. In the evening, we have free time to enjoy shopping in local market. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 4  Shillong – Kaziranga (2 Nights) (320 kms 7 hrs approx.)

After breakfast, proceed to Kaziranga – where wildlife roams fearlessly and enjoy a beautiful rendezvous with nature. Upon arrival, we have free time for relaxing. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Day 5 Kaziranga

Today we experience a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. We will come face to face with one horned rhino’s, elephants, deer’s and rare migratory birds. Later we visit Orchid Park – an orchid house with over 600 species from Northeast India, bamboo and medicinal herb gardens, a cactus house and a handicrafts museum. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Day 6 Kaziranga – Guwahati (2 Nights) (230 kms 4 hrs approx.)

After breakfast, drive to Guwahati. The gateway to the northeast and the largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region, Guwahati serves as the starting block for most Northeast itineraries. It’s somewhat a featureless city – a prosaic heap of glass and concrete for the most part – but there are scattering of interesting temples to explore. Walk its back alleys and old quarters, however, and you will be able to salvage a generous amount of local flavour that lingers amid its suburban sprawl of ponds, palm trees, small single-storey traditional houses and old colonial-era mansions. Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 7 Guwahati

After breakfast, visit the Kamakhya Temple – one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country and you can enjoy a ride in the longest river ropeway over the Brahmaputra on own. Get a panoramic view of Umananda Temple, Peacock Island, the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding hills. Later we sail over the River Cruise in Brahmaputra. Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 8 Guwahati – Departure

After breakfast proceed to Guwahati airport to board flight to your hometown. Holiday Concludes. Let’s stay in touch on Facebook\email and meet again on another memorable Holiday. See you soon!

The region’s prime tourist interest in its Nature and eco-friendly atmosphere. The facilities available here cannot be matched with other developed destinations. Many regions do not have star category hotels. Similar category hotels with the best available room will be provided In the region, scarcity of water & electricity is a natural phenomenon. Guests are requested to bear with such problems as may arise during the tour.
